I have a fawn colored Grayhound – Humphrey. He raced until 6 months before we got him and won just under $140,000 for his owner. He raced for his life. I’ve had him for roughly 2 years now and he is 9 years old. He is the smartest dog I have ever had and he behaves more like another human, than a dog. He sleeps on my bed with me at night (I sleep alone). I have a double sized bed and he likes to sleep across it, rather than up and down, just under where the pillows are. Last night, I got into bed without disturbing him and I thought, far enough away from the side of my bed to be safe. I woke up rather suddenly when I rolled over the side onto the floor and banged my head on the side table on the way down. It is not true that if you fall out of bed, when you are asleep, it can kill you. It just hurts and is disorientating, what with being pitch black. Humphrey recently hurt one of his front legs, I don’t know how and his vet prescribed him 30 x Moxicam 7.5 which we got from our local chemist for $15.55 – but for which our vet would have charged us $125.00. I don’t know how a vet can charge so much, when, as human medication, it only costs $15.55 or how any vet practice can inflate the price 8 times more than its basic cost – or the justification of that or with any other pet medication costs and without being shamed, by all. There should be a Government Regulation which brings vets in line with human medication and not a total rip off for everyone with a pet who will rely on a vet, at some stage of their pets life.
Best Wishes…………………
