I have “self-diagnosed” myself with anxiety. I know that I should go to the doctor and get diagnosed properly. But I’m scared I’m just overreacting. I believe I have had anxiety attacks before. Pretty much on a daily basis my stomach begins to twist violently, I develop a lump in my throat and feel like I’m going to puke. And among this I feel like crying. I stress out very easily and am pretty stressed out at the moment. But even when I was younger I would avoid going to friends houses because I felt “sick”. Even now writing this my stomach is lurching.

  • Hey, honestly same. Sometimes the signs for an anxiety disorder are so obvious that theres no point to going in for a professional diagnosis. When i got my first therapist I was all like ‘hey im not diagnosed, but i have generalized anxiety disorder’ and she was like ‘yup you sure do’.

Idk where i was going with this its 2:30 am and i’m so sleepy.

But basically try to find people you can talk to even if its online. Find activities that keep you calm. Find out what soecific things trigger your anxiety. Good luck

  • Same here as well. I think I have a high functioning anxiety. I can operate at work just fine and I deal with live ok, but everytime I have to deal with something new, I freak out. Generally I try to avoid those situations. Sometimes it works, sometimes it comes back to bite me in the ass.

Don’t be ashamed to talk to a professional if you need to. Also don’t blame yourself for not seeing a professional if you feel you can deal with it alone or by talking to friends/family.

Just remember: You survived all of your worst days so far! You can do it.

  • A psychiatrist can prescribe meds that will help reduce your anxiety. Go see one soon.
