Your wife probably thought I was being rude because of a few things. Firstly- I have a professional relationship with YOU and not her. She probably thinks I’m taking YOUR side in this divorce. (I’m not) Secondly- she may have it in her head that we flirt or something because she thinks we are the same age group (we’re not, I’m older than I look) Thirdly- She actually DOES need that tax return because you folks need to figure out child support. And you ARE dragging your feet, and so is my boss. I don’t prepare your income tax return. My boss does. Maybe she thinks I do and I’m the one dragging my feet. (I’m not) And lastly- I am very busy and I may have come across as being short. I hate when people dial my extension and ask about their income taxes. I don’t do income taxes, only business taxes. Dude, I know divorce s****. If your wife wants to be mad at me, that’s okay. She’s probably mad at the world right now. When I got divorced I was 26 years old, with no education or skills and two small kids to take care of. My ex walked out a week before Christmas after 11 years and two kids together. He dragged his feet too, and I literally went hungry and without heat so my kids could be fed and warm while I waited for a tax return and a child support hearing. I’m WAY more on her side than yours. Be fair. Those are your kids.
