Don’t wreck your relationship with your girlfriend being consumed by her ex. He hasn’tried to speak to her in many many years, he never will again, don’t rely on him and what he does to keep her content. Do it yourself. Enjoy it, take what you get but always keep in mind what it’s about, and take everything with a light grain of salt.
For what it’s worth you are in the lead, you are better off than he is, you are in a better position in real life, take that and go with it. Keep her happy, and keep her mind off the past. If your relationship survives what you did here that is.
