Autism does not make me incapable of accepting responsibility, so don’t take responsibility for me.
If I hurt someone, even if it was by accident, I don’t want to be coddled and told I did nothing wrong, I want to be told off for being rude or cruel.
When people try to excuse everything I do on account of having a neurological disorder, it feels incredibly dehumanizing. Can’t people just let me be a man? When I’m alone in public, I do just fine with people, even when someone gets annoyed with me.
I do not need a proverbial crutch, so stop trying to make me wear one.
