I sometimes think it would be cool to die in a school shooting. I’d get to die young, meaning I’d have lived a good life with few responsibilities, I wouldn’t have to put any effort into killing myself, I would be made a martyr and an icon, and my death would be used to push pro-gun control narratives. Sadly, I’m in college now.

  • I have the same exact thought every time there is a mass shooting, not just in schools but at the churches, coffee shops, sports events and such. The only thing is you will never take guns away from Americans, you can talk all you want. Just because some assholes decided to go shoot strangers doesn’t mean everyone should give up their guns, and that’s the end of the story. Those who espouse gun control fail to see the others’ point of view. We are going to tolerate mass shootings just like we tolerate 30,000-plus deaths on the highway each year, most or all preventable, we live in a society full of unconcious, automatic people, most of whom are pretty dumb. Bless them! But, yeah, I always think “I wish I could have been there and been shot, or give my life trying to save others” instead of killing myself and ending this lonely, pointless life of struggle and sadness.
