My significant other is king of monopolizing conversations. I had the audacity to interrupt him during one of his hour long, shouting diatribes about philosophy, today, and he accused me of not respecting him. He loves the sound of his own voice and takes every opportunity to hijack conversations to speak about himself. He constantly interrupts any attempt at a back and forth conversation to bring it back to his perspective, his ideas, his feelings. He fancies himself superior to other humans and thinks anyone that doesn’t immediately understand his Wikipedia-gained knowledge about philosophy is too dense to be worth his time. I have a feeling he doesn’t shut up, because he’s trying to prove he’s smarter than everyone else; the only thing he’s proving is how insufferable he is.

Fuck. I did that the day i met him because i was so shy i wanted to talk away my fears of being in front of the man of my dreams and his artistic aura. I wanted to fuck it up and cry. I did.
