The way our culture treats “the other woman” is a travesty. Therapists aren’t there to help you heal, they are there to maintain our culture’s status quo. “Drop all contact with the other woman,” they say. “No closure,” they say. I wish someone would do a thesis on the damage it causes to coddle the wife and throw the mistress out with Tuesday night’s trash. It’s been seven years of singleness and I’m still not over him. I’m not ok. I wonder how many other women are not ok.
