  • Have a disc in your neck come loose, into your left shoulder blade, have surgery through your throat and have a titanium plate put in. Go back to work for 2 months, only to get complex regional pain syndrome(CRPS). CRPS is also called “the suicide disease”. It is the most painful condition known to medicine. It is more painful than childbirth, cancer, and amputation. There is a pain scale doctors use to measure pain called a McGill Pain Index. It runs from 0 to 50(50 being the most painful). A sprain is around 15, a fracture toothache, arthritis are just below 20. Fibromyalgia is around 30. Natural childbirth is just below 40. CRPS, is 42-46 on the scale. I have had this for 3 years now. There is no cure. I am in agony!
