I’m a girl and I’m in love with one of my good female friends. Last half year I kept my distance from her because I wanted my feelings to go away. Now I talk to her again and my feelings came back. Now she thinks I’m a fake friend. But how could I ever explain why without ruining my friendship? I’ve been lying to her for almost two years now.

  • If she’s straight, there’s just no chance there of you being In a sexual and romantic relationship with her and you should at least try to move on. If not, you should tell her how you feel. If she tells you she is not interested, at least it finally gives you the closure to move on and find someone who will reciprocate.

  • Best advice ever: “Follow your heart”. There’s this Lumineer’s song, “Stubborn love”, that says “It’s better to feel pain than nothing at all” and it’s so true…
I know it would be so hard to break a friendship. However, is she a real friend if she turns her back on you because you had feelings for her?
Maybe she’ll need some time to think about it, but if she can’t try to understand you I don’t think she is worth it.
I am sorry. Wish you luck!
