When I was an infant I lost my eye sight. I never got to see a lot of things growing up. My family, famous landmarks, even colors were all visually unknown to me.I remember when I was about five, I was with my grandmother when I first heard it. Our neighbor , who was never very nice to begin with, shouted at my grandmother and called her a name I had never heard before. My grandmother later explained to me that the word our neighbor said was a derogatory term for a black person. That I would hear this term a lot though life, but fortunately it would never be used towards my mother, my grandfather, or me. I was upset and didn’t understand why someone wanted to call my grandmother or anyone those horrible names.I didn’t understand then why skin color made a difference. Even now, years later after I’ve had surgery to repair my sight. I just don’t see what everyone else is seeing. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if everyone were born blind. maybe they might see better.

Those who see the world but do not truly observe it are blind anyway.
This was an inspirational post. Don’t know why it’s getting so much hate, sometimes people just aren’t open-minded.
