I chose a username on random and started talking to someone who happens to be friends (best friends) with a celebrity. This person apparently knows someone else with the username I chose and assumed I was this person. This individual invited me to private social networking sites where I set up more accounts and talked to more people who thought they knew me. I was tantalized by how I was embraced by this group of people, and was privy to very personal things about this celebrity (a very famous, internationally renowned celebrity.) I know it’s wrong to pretend to be someone I am not. I deleted my account when someone asked me for my phone number. I know what I did was wrong, very wrong, and I will never divulge any of the things I learned from talking to these people. I know they are legit, too, because they shared very private photographs and information openly with me. What was a very strange coincidence turned into me exploiting a case of mistaken identity. I feel so guilty about it and had to get this out. Everything else I will take to my grave. But at the same time, I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed my foray into a secret world.
