I paid somebody 400$ to fix a dent that went across two side panels of my car, which was preventing a car door from opening. He used tools and hammered it out in about 15 minutes. There are many small dents remaining in the door. I feel like I paid about 200$ too much, but MAACO would have charged 1200$ for replacement of one of the panels and repair of the other. Its like the s***** high costs of the MAACOs quote made the guy who flagged me down on the side of the road seem reasonable. He negotiated me up from 300$. I feel bad about the whole encounter.
