I’m dating this guy and I love him so much but I feel like he doesn’t feel the same… It’s always me planning the dates… I’m the first one to give him a gift and he might not even give one back for birthdays, Christmas etc. We only see each other for about a hour 5 days a week and mostly communicate through texting and through texting we are all sweet and stuff but in real life, it’s not like that, we don’t even really act like a couple so most people think we are just friends. It’s been 10 months and we haven’t kissed or held hands or anything really… But I love him so much and I don’t want to let him go because if I do it will break him as much as it will break me…

I would say the best way to go about it is to be up front and ask him about it. It would probably be hard but if he doesn’t like/love you back than he would say so. The reason why you shouldn’t just out right break it off with him is he could just be a very shy guy, I’m a good example of this. Every time I’ve ever been in a relationship I’ve never been able to initiate any non sexual contact, but I always loved it when my girlfriend did. If this is the case with your boyfriend than the best thing you could do is to start slowly initiating things like holding hands, kiss him on the cheek or forehead, ease him into intimate contact but not be overbearing with it. Before that, make sure he wants to continue your relationship by asking him about it, make sure he doesn’t change the subject, and if he tries to just leave and say he needs to be somewhere then tell him that if he doesn’t answer the question than its over.
I am the author of the post and I just wanted to add that I did ask him about it once and he said he wanted that too and also he’s told me about his past relationships and all the stuff he did with them so maybe I’m the problem here not him….
